Paper Title: The Determinants of Exports of Pakistan
Abstract:

In Economic Development of any economy the role of international trade is very important. It is a potential source for fulfillment of the growing needs of all human beings. All trading countries gain the benefits of international trade. The government of Pakistan has been introducing many policies to encourage exports from time to time. For example, export subsidies were provided to the exporters without any check. This paper is an attempt to explore the exports determinants of Pakistan. The study empirically investigates the impact of exports finance scheme, world gross domestic product, real effective exchange rate, industrialization and gross domestic product on the performance of exports for the period from 1977 to 2013 in Pakistan. Autoregressive distributed lag model is used for estimating the co-integration among the variables. Empirical results show that there is long run relationship between exports and its determinants. It is found that world gross domestic product and gross domestic product have positive impact on exports. Whereas the exports finance scheme and real effective exchange rate have negative and significant impact on exports in the long run time period.
