Paper Title: A Study of Business Strategies of Manufacturing SMEs in Sialkot, Pakistan
Abstract:
 
SMEs in which operations and firm structure follow the business strategy show better business performance. Accordingly, various business strategies available in literature have been used to analyze manufacturing SMEs strategic behavior. In Pakistan, general academic and policy literature analyses individual parameters of business strategy on firm performance. However, there is not much emphasis on analyzing firm level business strategies. Results of such studies of competitive manufacturing SMEs will be an important source for increasing the competitiveness of SMEs as per latest trends in the international academic and policy literature. Therefore, a research was conducted on export-oriented Sialkot firms to analyze their business strategies. The research shows an interesting array of business strategies adopted by the firms to differentiate themselves from their competitors while competing with more or less similar product ranges in the same markets.
